Saquon Barkley would change one thing about his Giants exit

In fact, there’s no need to explain that Barkley spent the first six years of his career (one winning season) as the face of the Giants in New York and Philadelphia.

After 18 months of contract extension negotiations with the Giants collapsed, he agreed to a three-year, $37.5 million free agent contract with the Eagles on Monday.

Barkley has no regrets about his decision, just how he left.

Barkley, who announced his signing by tweeting two eagle emojis, said: “To all the Giants fans who were hurt by my departure, I have nothing but love and respect for those players and all those women.” Ta. “They have been so good to me and my family over the past six years and have created so many memories.

“I don’t think I handled it the right way on social media. I think I was able to say a proper goodbye. Once I announced it, it kind of blew up. I’m always grateful to Giants fans, but unfortunately the NFL… is a business. I’m lucky to come to a place where I know I can compete, I know I can win, and I know I can stay close to home.”
