Saquon Barkley's biggest supporter shared an emotional message Sunday after the Eagles' star running back's milestone game.
Anna Condon took to her Instagram Stories to thank her longtime partner for becoming the ninth running back in NFL history to surpass 2,000 rushing yards in a season during Philadelphia's 41-7 home win over the Cowboys. He made a heartfelt post.
“You shine brighter than the morning sun,” Condon wrote of Barkley, 27.
In a follow-up post, Condon, who has been dating Barkley since their college days at Penn State and has two children together, uploaded an NFL graphic featuring an animation of the two-time Pro Bowler jumping over 2,000 characters.
Barkley eclipsed the 2,000-yard mark with a 23-yard run in the fourth quarter on Sunday.
He finished the Week 17 contest with 31 carries for 167 yards, coming within 100 yards of Eric Dickerson's record of 2,105 yards.
The Eagles, who clinched the NFC East title on Sunday, have one game left to decide whether to start the regular-season finale against the Giants or rest him for the playoffs.
Barkley, currently in his first season in Philadelphia, will be at the mercy of manager Nick Sirianni's decisions.
“Whatever he decides, I'm all for it,” Barkley said. “If his mindset is, let's go out and try it, then let's go out and try it. If his mindset is, 'Let's rest and get ready for this run.' , I fully agree. ”
Barkley spent the first six seasons of his career with the Giants, who drafted him No. 2 in 2018.
The MVP candidate joined Big Blue's hated rivals in free agency in March, agreeing to a three-year contract worth $37.75 million.
Barkley has 13 rushing touchdowns and two receiving scores through 16 games this year.
