Amir Sarfaraz Tamba, a suspect in the murder of Indian death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh in Pakistan and a close ally of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed, was arrested today in Lahore by unidentified gunmen. He was killed, official sources said.
Tamba was attacked by assailants on a motorcycle in Lahore’s Islampura area and was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Sarabjit Singh, 49, was brutally assaulted by inmates, including Tamba, inside the high-security Kot Lakhpat in Lahore on May 2, 2013, after being in a coma for nearly a week. He died of a heart attack at Jinnah Hospital in Lahore in the early hours of the morning. prison.
Tamba was born in Lahore in 1979 and was a close aide of the LeT founder.
