Sarah Palin requests prayers for Ron Duguay while sharing a photo of him in the hospital.

Sarah Palin is seeking support for her boyfriend, Ron Duguay, who is currently facing Stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to his liver.

On Sunday, the former governor of Alaska shared a heartfelt photo on her Instagram Story, showing her holding Duguay’s hand while he rested in his hospital bed.

“Prayers for Ron Duguay so appreciated,” she wrote, according to US Weekly.

Duguay’s family made his diagnosis public back in February and have since launched a GoFundMe page to assist with expenses.

Palin, 62, and Duguay, 69, have been together since 2022. Her call for prayers comes just weeks after Duguay’s daughter, Shay Thomas, posted an update that hinted at a decline in her father’s condition.

“I wasn’t planning on posting anything, but I believe in the power of prayer, and right now, we need all the prayers we can get. And I know so many love him so much. Please keep our dad in your prayers. @noah_duguay @amberstavros,” Thomas wrote in her Instagram update.

Accompanying her message, she shared a photo of herself kneeling beside Duguay’s hospital bed, her hand resting on his lap.

Duguay experienced a worrisome collapse at home in July due to dehydration, which required immediate hospitalization.

As a result of the fall, he lost all of his veneers along with two natural teeth, a situation Thomas highlighted in a post showing her father grinning despite his missing tooth.

In an exclusive interview, Thomas mentioned that Palin has been “incredibly supportive” and actively involved throughout Duguay’s treatment and recovery. There are hurdles due to their long-distance relationship—Palin remains in Alaska while Duguay is in Florida—but Thomas noted they’ve maintained a close connection.

Duguay was the 13th overall pick by the Rangers in the 1977 Draft and spent eight of his 12 NHL seasons with the team. His career highlights include a Stanley Cup Final appearance in 1979 and an All-Star game nod in 1982.

He also had stints with the Red Wings, Penguins, and Kings before retiring in 1989, finishing his career with a total of 274 goals and 346 assists across 864 games.
