Saudi-Canada Investment Forum in Jeddah
The Saudi-Canada Investment Forum commenced in Jeddah on July 9, uniting a prominent Canadian delegation from both public and private sectors with Saudi officials, business leaders, and investors. The aim? To bolster investment relationships and investigate opportunities across various promising sectors.
A roundtable discussion featured government officials, investors, and business leaders from both nations, providing a platform to explore investment partnerships, examine incentives and support offered by Saudi Arabia, and delve into collaborative efforts in key areas.
Notably, the event resulted in the signing of 15 agreements aimed at enhancing economic relations, marking a step towards broadening bilateral investment and cooperation between Saudi and Canadian entities.
Throughout the forum, attendees explored diverse investment opportunities, particularly in financial services, mining, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and data centers. There was also a spotlight on the incentives that Saudi Arabia presents to potential investors in alignment with its Vision 2030 strategy.
The discussions showcased Saudi Arabia’s swift industrial advancement and its competitive edge, emphasizing the country’s modern infrastructure and strategic geographic position, which links markets in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa. This creates fresh opportunities for Canadian firms to enter into partnerships.
Another significant topic was Saudi Arabia’s mining sector, with insights shared on the kingdom’s substantial mineral wealth, estimated at around $2.5 trillion, which includes over 50 different minerals.
Participants underlined the exciting prospects within the mining industry, notably Saudi Arabia’s extensive mineral resources and the rapid growth of exploration and related value chains, particularly in light of Canada’s advanced expertise in the field.
