Savannah Chrisley Reveals Family Struggles
The 27-year-old Savannah Chrisley has shared her story. Her family’s new reality series, “The Chrisleys: Back to Reality,” premiered on Thursday, with a full release scheduled for September 1.
This Lifetime show features Savannah, her parents Todd and Julie, and her siblings Chase, Grayson, and Chloe, whom Todd and Julie adopted in 2016. Nanny Faye also appears alongside Julie’s parents, Harvey and Pam Hughes.
In this series, Todd, 56, and Julie, 52, navigate life after being “eventually pardoned, released from prison, and returned to Japan.”
The five-minute trailer hints at deeper family issues, with Savannah expressing distress over familial betrayals. She mentioned her sister Lindy, saying, “The prosecutor read a letter Lindsay wrote to the FBI. We are no longer family and we are losing our last name.”
Chase, 29, added a chilling thought: “If your own blood ruins you, then strangers will definitely do that.” Nanny Faye reflected, “This family is torn apart because it’s always like this and now it’s like this.”
In 2019, federal prosecutors accused Todd and Julie of submitting false documents to secure over $30 million in loans. They were found guilty in 2022 of bank fraud and tax evasion, leading to Todd receiving a 12-year sentence and Julie seven years. They continue to assert their innocence.
In the trailer, Savannah voiced her turmoil, stating, “Our family is completely divided as our parents are gone. I honestly didn’t know if it could be fixed.”
Meanwhile, Lindy, 35, had a subtle reaction after being pardoned by President Trump in May. She posted on Instagram, “All things are possible with God.”
Lindy, who shares a father with Savannah, starred in 20 episodes of the reality show “Chrisley Knows Best.” Recently, she revealed that she dropped her last name, opting for her boyfriend’s surname instead.
Fans quickly noticed the change to “Lindsie Landsman” on her Instagram profile. She explained on her “Southern Tea” podcast that she had struggled with the weight that came with the Chrisley name, which is linked to their reality show.
Lindy noted that the family name has become associated with certain expectations and problems. “Now I go with a name that feels correct,” she said.
In another candid moment, she addressed questions about her relationship status, clarifying, “We’re not married. He and I have developed a loving relationship that brings stability to my life and Jackson’s life.” This new chapter feels like home to her.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the Chrisley family has been in the spotlight for family drama. In 2023, Lindy shed light on the broken bond between Todd and Julie, implying that communication issues persisted during Julie’s incarceration.
Time has revealed significant divides, as Lindy admitted she felt no connection with Savannah. “The controls and operations are amazing to me,” she remarked.
