Savannah Chrisley 'declined' to allow family to 'mess up' Todd and Julie Chrisley's pardons

Savannah Chrisley is determined to secure pardons for her parents.

In the debut episode of Lifetime’s “Chrisleys: Back to Reality,” which aired on Monday, Savannah, the oldest daughter of Todd and Julie Chrisley, shared her efforts to free her parents from federal prison.

During a family gathering, Chase Chrisley, 29, inquired if Savannah had any updates on their parents’ pardon status. “No,” she replied, adding, “If I did, I wouldn’t share it.”

When Chase questioned why she wasn’t discussing this with the rest of the family, Savannah expressed her decision to keep it private. “We all, in our family, if you want the world to know, tell Chase,” she mentioned. “You can’t trust them to keep it under wraps.”

She continued, “We can’t risk anyone jeopardizing the pardons. I’ve worked hard these last two and a half years for this.”

“Chrisleys: Back to Reality” is an eight-part docuseries that began with its first episodes on Monday, focusing on how the family copes with Todd and Julie’s prison sentences following their convictions in 2022 for bank fraud, wire fraud, and tax evasion.

After their convictions were upheld, Todd received a 12-year sentence, while Julie was given seven years. Despite this, Savannah worked tirelessly for their release. Remarkably, her parents were pardoned by President Donald Trump in May 2025 after two years behind bars.

Following their release, Todd and Julie participated in various interviews discussing their experiences in prison and the moment they were informed of their pardon.

Recently, the couple joined Savannah for an interview with ABC News to talk about their new series and how it differs from their previous show, “Chrisley Knows Best.” Savannah noted, “For 10 years, we’ve marketed ‘Chrisley Knows Best’ as a scripted comedy. However, this new show really reveals the layers of our lives.”

She added, “You’ll witness dysfunction, arguments, and the emotional struggles we’ve faced to get to this point.”
