Savannah Guthrie is back on 'Today'

Savannah Guthrie made her return to NBC’s “Today” show on Monday after a two-month absence, as the search for her missing mother continues. “Good morning! It’s wonderful to start the week together, and I’m glad to be back,” Guthrie greeted the audience.

Co-anchor Craig Melvin expressed relief, saying, “I’m so glad you’re back.” Guthrie wore a yellow dress to support the search efforts for her mother, while Melvin complemented her with a yellow tie.

Nancy Guthrie has been missing since February 1, prompting her daughter to take a leave from the program. The family’s struggle has captured national attention, yet little progress has been made regarding Nancy’s location or status.

Initially, Savannah stayed focused on the news headlines, covering topics like the conflict in Iran, President Donald Trump’s social media activity on Easter, the rise in gas prices, and updates on the Artemis II mission.

She shared an Easter message reflecting on her family’s difficult situation and the common feeling of facing uncertainty without clear answers. As she pondered the time from the birth of Jesus to 1995, she mentioned that this often-neglected period is crucial for understanding faith during challenging times.

“In the midst of darkness, this morning’s light is truly beautiful,” Guthrie noted, emphasizing the need for a brighter outlook.

Nancy Guthrie, who is believed to have been forcibly taken from her home, was last seen around 10 PM the night before her disappearance after being dropped off by her son-in-law. Not long after, a masked figure reportedly appeared at her door, potentially armed.

Early that morning, her pacemaker synced with her Apple device, providing a possible timeframe for when she was abducted. Both her watch and iPhone were found at her residence.

A series of unverified ransom notes have emerged, raising speculation that financial motives may be behind the case, but no suspects have been identified yet.

The investigation remains ongoing, and both authorities and the family have appealed to the public for assistance. Over $1.2 million in rewards has been offered, including $1 million contributed by the Guthrie family. Anyone with information is urged to call 1-800-CALL-FBI.

This story is still developing, with updates expected.
