Savannah Guthrie's mother Nancy is reportedly being held for a multi-million dollar ransom in Bitcoin as the FBI gets involved in the search.

Kidnapping Case of Savannah Guthrie’s Mother Intensifies

The abductor of Nancy Guthrie, mother of NBC correspondent Savannah Guthrie, apparently left a ransom note requesting millions in Bitcoin for her return, prompting the FBI to become involved in the investigation.

According to a report by TMZ, the kidnappers demanded cryptocurrency payment to a confirmed Bitcoin account to ensure Nancy’s release. She was reported missing from her Arizona home on Sunday, and her family hasn’t seen her since Saturday evening. Disturbingly, police found bloodstains in her house.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office has acknowledged awareness of the ransom note.

Expressing growing concerns, the FBI announced its participation in the case. John Edwards, assistant special agent in charge of the FBI’s Tucson office, stated, “We are looking at this matter from every angle, and we need your help. If you live in the area and see something, please report it. Every lead and tip is important. We are actively pursuing all information.”

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos added that they are exploring all leads, noting, “We’re following every lead that we have. All I can say is this: We have hundreds of leads, and we’re telling people we need help. We appreciate that.” He went on to mention that they are collaborating with the FBI to assess these leads effectively.

In light of her mother’s disappearance, Savannah Guthrie has not appeared on NBC. Her family released a statement expressing gratitude for the support and emphasizing the need for her mother’s safe return. “Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our beloved mother. We appreciate the hard work of law enforcement on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department,” they said.
