Exciting NBA Draft Eve Party in NYC
On Tuesday evening, Vox Media and SB Nation hosted an impressive “on the clock” celebration at SEI Less in New York City’s fashion district, all thanks to collaborations with Don Julio Tequila, Corona, and Shaq-a-Licious XL Gummies. The buzz of the upcoming NBA Draft set a vibrant tone for the night.
This Asian fusion restaurant has transformed into a hotspot for athletes and hip-hop personalities, attracting a crowd of VIPs, former NBA players, influencers, and various celebrities. It was quite a scene, really, showcasing the cultural intersection of basketball and brand revitalization.
The central bar featured ice-cold Corona Extra and an array of Don Julio spirits, serving up three standout cocktails. Guests could enjoy the Anejo Manhattan made with Don Julio Anejo, while the Reposado Margarita featured Don Julio Reposado. A spicy margarita showcased Don Julio Blanco, and they were all, well, pretty tasty.
But there was more in store from Don Julio at SEI. Those lucky enough to get a special key were ushered into the 1942 room, where they could savor Don Julio 1942 either on rocks or in a 42 Lobroi cocktail. It was quite an experience, I must say.
After the initial mingling and dancing, guests found their way to the Corona VIP section. The custom bar, radiating a beach vibe dubbed “La Playa awaits,” offered refreshing Corona Extra, Corona Light, and even non-alcoholic options. Drinks were kept cool in personalized Corona Cozies, and attendees picked up fun swag like bottle openers, necklaces, and lip balms.
A highlight was undoubtedly the Shaq-a-Licious Drip Lounge, where many NBA players embraced the vibe reminiscent of tunnel walks that WNBA players often do before games. Guests made a beeline for the Shaq-a-Licious XL Gummies Swag Table filled with bags, hats, shirts, custom jewelry, and of course, a variety of gummies. The illuminated tunnels made for some great photo ops too.
The culinary offerings were no less impressive, with delicious bites from Sayles, including chicken satays with peanut sauce, all while tunes from the 1990s hip hop era kept the energy high, thanks to the DJs.
The star-studded guest list included Greg Oden, who was the overall number one pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, and Def Jam recording artist LiAngelo Ball. Other notable attendees were Jim Jones, Fabolous, Benny the Butcher, Dave East, former NBA player Josh Richardson, and a wide array of influencers and personalities, enhancing the event’s allure.
