Anthony Scaramucci, who briefly served as White House communications director under former President Donald Trump, said more Republicans are not speaking out against Trump because they don’t want to risk their lives.
“Well, they probably don’t like death threats, Nicole, and you can probably start there.” Scaramucci told MSNBC. Thursday’s “Deadline: White House” host Nicole Wallace when she asked him In a clip featured by Mediaite, some people who have had direct contact with President Trump talk about why it’s difficult to speak out about the “danger” he poses.
“So…that may be the primary reason…I think it has to do with the generals respecting the sanctity of the Constitution and not wanting to bring military leadership into the political fray,” Scaramucci continued. Ta.
Scaramucci joked last week that he and other former Trump administration officials were part of a “Trump recovery unit.”
“[L]Just talk about my colleagues and friends, we’re like this Trump recovery squad. [former Defense Secretary Mark Esper], [retired Gen. Mark Milley, former chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff],” Scaramucci said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” last Friday.
Scaramucci’s comments were in response to a question from host Joe Scarborough about why he believes former President Trump is “very dangerous to the republic if re-elected.” .
Speaking to Mr. Wallace this week, Mr. Trump said, “I think we’ll be more organized this time.”
“One of the reasons that rebellion failed was that he had no organizational skills. He didn’t have the business management skills to properly carry out a rebellion. But now he’s much more organized than he was. “There are people who are actively participating in that campaign,” he said.
“So don’t underestimate that. And if he somehow wins, don’t underestimate his effectiveness going forward. I don’t expect him to.”
