‘Scared To Eat’: Dodgers’ Mookie Betts Is Suffering From Some Kind Of Illness And Doctors Have No Idea What’s Going On

This makes my upcoming dentist appointment seem like a walk in the park…

Mookie Betts, a superstar shortstop for the Los Angeles Dodgers, didn’t play in the two-game Tokyo Series against the Chicago Cubs because of an illness. Fast forward a few days later, and Betts is still dealing with the illness, and from the sounds of it, things aren’t getting better for the 32-year-old. While in Tokyo, Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts said that Betts had lost around 15 pounds. He’s listed at 180. Talking with the press Sunday, Betts stated that his weight is now down to 150, and every time he tries to eat, he throws it back up.

“You weigh yourself and you weigh 150 pounds. Before I left spring, I was 175 (pounds). It’s hard to just not eat. … My body is just kind of eating itself. Literally every time I fuel my body I throw up, and I don’t know what to do about it. I’m scared to eat, I don’t really know what to do” explained Betts.

I’ve got a pretty big dental procedure coming up Wednesday, and quite frankly, I’m nervous as hell. To be honest, I never deal with situations like this well, I’m always a shivering b*tch. But hol-lay… Mookie Betts‘ health problem makes my problem look small-fry.

Best wishes to you, Mookie. I can see the stress on your face and I don’t blame you.
