Scary Image Shows Why Parents Need to Use Caution When Choosing Bathing Suits for Kids

Some people may not realize Blue swimsuits are not good for childrenIn fact, avoiding blue swimsuits could save a child’s life. One image posted to Facebook proves this warning. The image was published online by an Australian group called CPR Kids.

The photo shows a seemingly empty pool outside a home. The bright blue pool is beautiful and appears deep. But the photo raises questions. CPR Kids wrote in their post:

“What do you see under the water here? Look closely. Is there something there? A child?”

One of the group’s educators made this horrifying discovery after remarking that the water was very murky, and she was leading a group of children, wearing very demure blue swimsuits, to the ocean floor, where they nearly disappeared.

Blue swimsuits for kids are dangerous. Here’s why

As a result, a group led by paediatric nurses is urging parents to only dress their children in light-coloured swimwear to prevent them from drowning.

CPR Kids shared another post emphasizing the importance of different swimsuit colors, this one saying, “Remember, when you’re drowning, there’s no sound and every second counts,” which includes two photos, one of a child wearing blue and one without blue clothing.

People responded to both posts, with some calling the information “scary” and “important,” both of which are very true.

One person commented: “This is 100% true! I thought I was keeping a close eye on my 3 kids. My son was wearing a bright blue Speedo sun shirt and I thought nothing of it. He stepped backwards down the steps and went underwater. At first I thought he was only in the water for 3 seconds but the camera caught the whole thing and he was underwater for 26 seconds!! I can’t believe I was so close to him and didn’t notice because of my blue swim shirt.”

Their findings also apply to adults, who aren’t very good swimmers, but fortunately their larger size makes them easier to spot.
