The National Science Foundation has canned experts and probation employees this week in response to a call from the Trump administration to reduce the size of its federal workforce.

“The director couldn't even make it to the 10am shooting call, which was held for all of us,” the program director added.

“You screwed hardworking people who trusted this agency's words and left their careers no matter where they came from,” one person said at a meeting Tuesday. “That's about you. I'll be accountable.”

“You are presenting us as a trophy in front of the OPM,” the individual continued, referring to the Human Resources Bureau.
