Scott Jennings Rhetorically Asks Why Taxpayers Should Foot Bill For Professors That Despise ‘Western Civilization’ 

Republican strategist Scott Jennings questioned why taxpayers should offer Harvard billions of dollars during a CNN appearance on Monday.

Harvard filed a lawsuit in federal court on Monday after freezing a $2.2 billion grant after accusing the Trump administration of not fighting anti-Semitism. After lawyer Dan Abrams argued that Ivy League schools are political targets, Jennings responded by saying that schools that refused to deal with hostile climates towards Jewish students justified their actions. “You don’t believe it’s just anti-Semitism. That’s what it means. Come on, don’t do that,” Abrams said.

“Well, most of them. Almost everything is political. So, come on, is that so?” Abrams shot back.

A report by the House Committee on Education and the Workforce released in September found that the university did not discipline Pro Hamas protesters. “And some people have something to do with this. The average American probably sees this and says they’re sitting on a $53 billion donation. They want another $2 billion to $9 billion,” Jennings said. “At the same time, they continue to embrace a group of professors and students who seem to be in school just because of the downfall of Western civilization. Why are we funding this?”

“Most of these agencies want to say, ‘Oh, we’re private,’ but yes, we need to support federal law, especially if we’re at the end of the federal dollars, periods and stories,” Lawler added.
