Kentucky prosecutors are expected to drop charges against the world’s No. 1 golfer, according to reports Scotty Scheffler Following Friday’s shocking arrest before the second round of the PGA Championship.
reported Sunday that “at this time,” the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office plans to dismiss the charges against Scheffler. Layup prohibited. The charges against Scheffler include second-degree felony assault on a police officer, reckless driving, failure to signal a traffic-directing officer, and criminal mischief. Yahoo Sports.
The PGA superstar reportedly drove past authorities directing traffic, and the officer told Scheffler to stop, but Scheffler didn’t listen and ran into the golfer’s car. It is said that his body was stuck to the side and he was dragged. Louisville Detective Brian Gillis was injured in the incident, according to the newspaper’s arrest report.
