Scottie Scheffler gives fans surprise treat on his birthday

It was Scottie Scheffler’s birthday, and he gave his loyal fans the gift of a lifetime.

Scheffler, 28, handed out leftover birthday cake to a small group of fans who had been waiting for more than an hour in a parking lot outside TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, and rewarded them with autographs and photo requests, as seen in a video posted on social media by the PGA Tour.

Scheffler pushed a stroller with her newborn son in one hand and held a box of cake in the other as she served dessert to fans after they wished her a happy birthday late Friday night.

Scheffler was fresh off a 64 in the second round of the Travelers Championship.

Scottie Scheffler’s birthday was on Friday.

“We don’t eat it,” the world number one told the stunned crowd, “I had a slice of cake. They gave me the whole cake.”

Scheffler signed several hats, cake boxes from nearby Mozzicato De Pasquale Bakery & Pastry Shop and Domino’s Pizza boxes.

Fans were thrilled to see Scheffler, some literally jumping for joy when he came out of the clubhouse.

Scottie Scheffler had some fun with a group of fans on Friday.

“Let’s all share the cake,” Scheffler said to the fan holding the box after removing his hat to stop the cake from falling and signing autographs.

Scheffler, who has two major championship wins, was called “the greatest of all time” by one fan.

This was a much happier story than Scheffler’s parking lot experience last month in Kentucky, when he was arrested and charged with second-degree assault on a police officer after trying to drive past a stop signal on his way to the PGA Championship.

The charges were later dropped, and Scheffler said he had “no ill will” toward the officers after a “serious misunderstanding.”

So what cake will Scheffler have?

It looks vanilla with vanilla icing and red filling between the layers.
