Scottie Scheffler injects heat into Presidents Cup with passionate Tom Kim exchange

In this way, the Presidents Cup becomes a better competitive atmosphere that evokes passion and emotion. It's the same as its more popular and historic big brother, the Ryder Cup.

Less than two hours after players hit their first tee shots at Royal Montreal, Thursday's four-ball game culminated on the seventh hole, with Scottie Scheffler and Tom Kim each hitting the hole. He faced a birdie try from 87 feet.

Kim's ball was 7 inches farther than Scheffler's ball, so he played first.

The 22-year-old Korean, who burst onto the 2022 Presidents Cup stage with unparalleled passion, sank his putt and let out a roar that echoed throughout Quebec. Kim appeared to have closed the gap on the American from 2-up to 1-up through seven holes, and his birdie sent international fans around the green into a frenzy.

But then Scheffler, who has a killer instinct not unlike Tiger Woods, stepped up with a similar line and matched Kim for birdie.

Scheffler then turned to Kim.exclaimed, “What was that!” His ball just fell into the hole and matched Kim's two balls.

Of course, Scheffler and Kim are best friends who just happen to share the same birthday. The two have been close to each other throughout the PGA Tour season, and that close relationship was on full display at the Paris Olympics. After the final round, Scheffler hugged Kim and offered words of encouragement and support after a tough day at Le Golf National.

Nevertheless, Scheffler and Kim want nothing more than to beat each other on the Presidents Cup course, which is great for competition fans and golf fans around the world.

Please share more of this passion!
