Scottie Scheffler reveals first pic of baby son with wife Meredith

New father Scotty Scheffler beams with pride at his wife Meredith’s bundle of joy.

The two-time Masters champion took to Instagram on Monday to share with fans the couple’s newborn son, Bennett, who was born last Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.

“Welcome to our little world. Your mom and dad love you so much,” Scheffler, 27, said. captioned the post It showed him holding a baby in his arms.

Bennett’s arrival has been expected for some time, as Scheffler said last month at the 2024 Masters that he would be “ready to go” if Meredith went into labor.

“I can’t say I’m too worried about her giving birth. We haven’t seen any early signs yet, but pregnancy is a strange thing and it can happen at any time. But yeah… The lines of communication are open and she can contact me if she needs to,” he told reporters in Augusta.

Scheffler shot a 68 in the final round to earn his second green jacket with a total of 11 under.

The current world number one followed up his Masters victory with another win at the RBC Heritage in late April.

Although he missed last weekend’s Wells Fargo Championship, won by Rory McIlroy, Scheffler was at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, on Monday ahead of the PGA Championship, which starts Thursday.

When asked what a father means to him, Scheffler told Golf Channel. It “far exceeded” his expectations on Monday.

“I think I had pretty high expectations for what it would feel like, and I think they were far exceeded,” Scheffler said.

“I didn’t know exactly what it was going to feel like, but I knew it was going to be pretty amazing. It’s a pretty amazing feeling. It was pretty hard to leave the house this morning…When I left the house, I said to my little son, “I don’t want to go home, but I have to go.” ”

Scheffler, who finished tied for second at the 2023 PGA Championship, enters this year’s tournament as favorites to win alongside McIlroy and reigning three-time champion Brooks Koepka.

Scheffler and Meredith married in 2020.
