Maybe Scottie Scheffler is human after all.
Scheffler struggled uncharacteristically at the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth and was visibly frustrated on Friday.
On the 11th hole, Scheffler’s second of the day, he had a birdie putt from the edge of the green, but the ball went wide left and he missed.
The world’s best golfer was so frustrated he turned his putter over and declared, “This green is no good!”
Scheffler was a disappointing two-over in the first round on Thursday but started to improve on Friday with four consecutive birdies at the turn.
Hours before he teeed off on Thursday, Louisville Police released video of his arrest at the PGA Championship a week ago.
The video shows police Detective Brian Gillis, who misunderstood traffic flow, pursuing his vehicle as it entered Valhalla Golf Club.
Scheffler made it to tee time but showed signs of fading in major tournaments.
“Scotty Scheffler has done nothing wrong,” the golfer’s attorney, Steve Romines, told reporters Thursday after the video of the arrest was revealed. “We have no interest in settling this case. It’s either go to trial or it’s dismissed. It’s very simple. All of the evidence that’s coming out continues to support what Scotty has been saying all along: This is a confusing situation, a miscommunication, and he’s done nothing wrong.”
The arrest comes two months after a landmark incident for the 27-year-old.
In April, he won the Masters by three strokes over runners-up Collin Morikawa, Max Homa and Tommy Fleetwood.

He became a first-time father earlier this month when his wife Meredith gave birth to son Bennett.
“Welcome, little one. Your mommy and daddy love you very much,” said Scheffler, 27. I wrote in the post He posted a picture on Instagram of him holding the baby in his arms.
