Scottie Scheffler and his wife Meredith’s bundle of joy has arrived.

Just weeks after Scheffler won his second Masters in three years, the couple welcomed their first child together.

Sports Illustrated’s Bob Harig tweeted on Saturday With the baby on the way, Scheffler will be competing in this week’s PGA Championship, his second major of the season.

“There has been no official announcement from Scotty Scheffler, his team or the tour…but after winning four of the past five tournaments, including the Masters, he will be at Valhalla for next week’s PGA… Rumor has it he will. He is currently scheduled for an interview on Tuesday at 3:30pm on #babyborn,” Harig wrote over the weekend.

Harig confirmed in a subsequent tweet that Meredith had given birth, but details remained unclear.

Scheffler will be the favorite to win Valhalla (+400, FanDuel), followed closely by Rory McIlroy (+700), who is on a winning streak following his win at the Wells Fargo Championship on Sunday.

The topic of baby Scheffler came up during Masters week when it was reported that the 27-year-old Scheffler would withdraw from the tournament if Meredith went into labor.

In addition to winning at Augusta, Scheffler also won the RBC Heritage Open in South Carolina.

“I’m ready to go right away,” the world No. 1 told reporters.

“I can’t say I’m too worried about her giving birth. We haven’t seen any early signs yet, but pregnancy is a strange thing and it can happen at any time. But yeah… I keep the lines of communication open so she can reach out to me if she needs to,” Scheffler said after shooting a 6-under 66 in the 2024 Masters opener.

When asked about becoming parents, Scheffler, who married Meredith in 2020, was candid.

“People ask how we’re preparing for a baby, and I feel like, well, we’re a little bit underprepared. We’re not ready for nursery and we’ve had a lot of trouble in recent years. We’ve had some issues in our home this week, and I think that’s the exciting part. I think we’re definitely not prepared enough to be parents.” He said.

When Scheffler shot a final-round 68 at Augusta National earlier this month to finish the week at 11 under and win his second green jacket, he had a kind message for Meredith, who was watching the tournament at home.

Meredith has been a mainstay at the tournament for years, and was part of Scheffler’s first Masters win in 2022.

She was by his side when he won the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in March.
