It was just a few weeks ago that Scottie Scheffler was arrested before the second round of the PGA Championship. If he hadn’t been shaken up, he might have won a major championship.
He bounced back on Sunday, holding off Collin Morikawa to win the Memorial Tournament.

Scheffler was four strokes up going into the final round, but finished two-over par, with three bogeys and one birdie for a 74.
Morikawa bounced back into the tournament with three birdies in the first nine holes for a 71. A birdie on the 12th hole put him within striking distance of Scheffler’s lead, but a bogey and two pars in the final three holes narrowed the gap on Scheffler.
Adam Hadwin and Christiaan Bezuidenhout finished third and fourth respectively, while Matt Fitzpatrick, Ludvig Aberg and Sepp Straka tied for fifth place.

It’s Scheffler’s 11th PGA Tour victory and his fifth overall since the calendar shifted from 2023 to 2024. He won the Masters in April.
The 27-year-old man had the charges dropped in Louisville, Kentucky, after he consistently described them as a “big misunderstanding.”
Speaking to reporters for the first time since the charges were dropped at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, ahead of this week’s Memorial Tournament, Scheffler said he felt now was a “more appropriate” time to speak about the matter.
“To be honest with you, being arrested on the way to the golf course was pretty traumatic for me, so I don’t like reliving it,” Scheffler told reporters. From ESPN.

“I’m definitely a little relieved, but not completely relieved because it’s something that’s always going to stay with me. I don’t think that arrest photo is going to go away anytime soon.”
