Scottie Scheffler's baby boy participates in the fun of the Masters Par 3 Contest

On the eve of the 90th Masters Tournament, Scottie Scheffler, the top-ranked male golfer in the world, participated in the par-3 contest. He and his wife Meredith brought their newborn son, Remy, to Augusta National Golf Club. Their younger son, Bennett, who is about to turn 2, was also part of the family outing.

In a sweet moment, Meredith carried Remy in a baby carrier as the family sported matching caddy outfits, marking their first public appearance together as a family of four.

The Par 3 Contest is a lighthearted event where both current competitors and past champions, who aren’t playing this year, take on a shorter, nine-hole course. It’s quite common for players to have their family members join as caddies or just to cheer them on.

While Scheffler was preparing his shot, little Bennett swung a toy club at a ball, mixing a bit of family fun into the competitive atmosphere.

Despite welcoming their new baby just ten days ago, there were questions regarding Scheffler’s readiness for the Masters, especially considering he missed the previous Houston Open for the same reason. In that event, Matt Kuchar took his place.

In an interview, Scheffler shared his feelings about the new addition to their family. “We had another boy a few weeks ago and it was really lovely and fun,” he mentioned on the Golf Channel. It’s evident he appreciates having them with him during the tournament.

Remy was seen being pushed in a stroller by Scheffler’s parents, Scott and Diane, while Meredith and Bennett looked on as he warmed up for practice rounds leading to the tournament.

Reflecting on the experience, Scheffler remarked, “My wife is a police officer, and it’s always interesting with a newborn around. Remy is so little that he sleeps most of the day; I think he’s still getting used to life outside the womb. Fortunately, I’ve managed to catch quite a bit of sleep myself.”

Scheffler has a notable track record, having claimed his first green jacket in 2022 and followed up with a second in 2024. He also participated in the par-3 contest the previous year before the 2025 Masters.
