Scottie Scheffler has done it again. He is his 2024 Masters champion, winning his second green jacket in three years.
Early Sunday morning at Augusta National, it seemed like drama was on the way. “I wasn’t that fast,” Scheffler said, going down the straight line like crazy to win by four strokes.
It’s been a long time since a player has had such an advantage. Tiger Woods did that at one point. So did Rory McIlroy, but now it’s Scheffler’s turn.
Most of the reactions to his third win of the year showed great respect for Scheffler, but some were funny.
Fans and media alike had no choice but to show their respect after clinching another major championship.
Scottie Scheffler is approaching the aura of inevitability that Tiger once occupied, far better than anyone else. It’s possible for him to win without playing his A game, which he did at times this weekend. Until further notice, he’s the one to win every major. #Masters

He’s Scott Scheffler now.

One of the more comical reactions came at the expense of McIlroy.
Scotty Scheffler’s caddies getting Rory this year is honestly one of my favorite stats.

It’s not easy to win at Augusta National this way. In the last three years, no one has won twice by a difference of three strokes or more. So it’s understandable why this Twitter user considers Scheffler his boss.
Not just in this tournament, but overall and for some time now, this sport is better when it has dominant players, and they have one in Scottie Scheffler.

Twitter user Chad Hartman is right. Golf is better when you have dominant players. Not only is he great at this event, but he is overall the best male golfer in the world. Schaeffler has achieved the world No. 1 position.
Going after Scheffler will be one of the biggest storylines the rest of the year. How many wins can we win in 2024? How many of them have the potential to become major champions?
