Jackson Smith-Njigba Signs Record-Setting Contract

Jackson Smith-Njigba made a significant impact in the Seattle Seahawks’ Super Bowl win during the 2025 season, and on Monday, it was announced that he has secured a lucrative contract extension.

Reports indicate that Smith-Njigba has agreed to a four-year deal worth $168.6 million, with an impressive $120 million guaranteed. This contract positions him as the highest-paid receiver in NFL history, averaging an annual value of $42.15 million.

The Seahawks drafted Smith-Njigba from Ohio State in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He transitioned to a full-time starting role in the 2024 season, earning his first Pro Bowl selection that year. His importance to the Seahawks grew immensely in 2025, as he recorded an impressive 119 receptions for 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns, leading the league in total receiving yards.

In the playoffs, which were new territory for him in the 2025 season, he tallied 17 catches for 199 yards and two touchdowns across three games. Although he had four catches for 27 yards in Super Bowl LX against the New England Patriots, the team’s performance didn’t hinge solely on his contributions.

As he heads into his fourth NFL season, Smith-Njigba will be sticking with the same offensive lineup, though a change in offensive coordinator is on the horizon.
