The LA District Attorney’s Office released a statement confirming that the rap artist is “impossible” to prosecute due to the statute of limitations.

“We are aware that a video is circulating online that allegedly depicts Sean Combs assaulting a young woman in Los Angeles,” the statement, published on Instagram, began. . “We find this footage extremely disturbing and difficult to watch.”

“Unfortunately, if the acts described occurred in 2016, they would have occurred beyond the time limit for assault charges to be brought, and therefore no charges could be filed,” the statement continued. “As of today, law enforcement has not filed a case related to the attack on Mr. Combs depicted in the video, but anyone who was a victim or witness to the crime is encouraged to contact law enforcement. We recommend that you contact the police or seek assistance from our Victim Services Office. ”
