Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs seeks bail, citing new evidence

Sean 'Diddy' Combs files new bail request, arguing changed circumstances and new evidence mean hip-hop star should be allowed to prepare for trial from outside prison did.

On Friday, Combs' lawyers filed the request in Manhattan federal court, but previous requests for bail since his arrest in September had been denied by two judges.

Combs was charged in an indictment unsealed on September 17 with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. If convicted, he could face a minimum of 15 years in prison or up to life in prison. In prison.

In a new court filing, Combs' lawyers propose a “stronger” bail that would subject the “Last Night” singer to intense 24-hour security surveillance and almost total restrictions on his contact with anyone. He said he is doing so. But his lawyer.

Lawyers have proposed a new $50 million bail in a continuing effort to win his release from the Brooklyn jail where he has been held for the past eight weeks.

They also cite new evidence that “reveals the flimsiness of the government's case.”

This evidence shows that a March 2016 video showing Combs physically assaulting his then-girlfriend is a sexually motivated incident described in the indictment against Combs. The lawyers said they dispute the government's contention that the incident occurred during a forced “freak-off.”

“This corroborates the defense's initial account of the events depicted in the March 2016 video recording. The video was not evidence of coerced 'abnormal behavior,' but rather, “Comms and Victim-1,” the request reads, “is a multi-minute glimpse into the complex but decade-long agreement between Mr. Johnson and Mr. Johnson.”

Lawyers argued that what Combs is experiencing in prison is prison conditions. Metropolitan Detention Center Brooklyn violates the constitutional right to participate in the defense.
