Sean Manaea back with Mets on three-year, $75 million contract

Sean Manaea is staying in Queens.

He is signing a three-year contract worth $75 million to return to the Mets, the newspaper's Jon Heyman reported early Monday.

Manaea, 32, enjoyed his career last year in his first season with the Mets, posting a 12-6 record with a 3.47 ERA in the regular season and a 4.74 ERA in the postseason.

The left-hander opted out of his $13.5 million contract in 2025 to test the open market, but will ultimately return to the Mets pending a medical exam.

He represents a key part of the Mets' rotation.

The Mets entered the offseason with only Kodai Chiga and David Peterson on the roster as true members of the starting rotation.

And they already lost Luis Severino to the Athletics

However, they signed Frankie Montas to a two-year, $34 million contract, and Clay Holmes, who will be converted from reliever to starter, was signed to a three-year, $38 million contract.

And now, Manaea's rotation is nearing completion.
