Shooting Incident at TPUSA Event: Search for Suspect Continues

Authorities are actively looking for the shooter responsible for the death of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was killed during an event on Wednesday. Two individuals, George Zinn and Zakaria Kureshi, had been arrested but were released after investigations revealed they were not connected to the crime, as stated by the FBI and the Utah Department of Public Safety.

According to reports, Kirk was shot in the neck at the TPUSA event held at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem. Law enforcement suspects the attack was deliberate, believing the shooter fired from the rooftop of a nearby building. The Utah DPS mentioned that they are examining several crime scenes as part of their investigation.

Interestingly, there were six UVU police officers on-site, alongside Kirk’s private security team, during the incident. He had been interacting with students just moments before the gunfire erupted and was captured on video under a tent when the situation escalated.

The shooter reportedly arrived on campus around 11:50 AM, made his way to the rooftop, and fled the area after the shots were fired. While authorities have surveillance footage of the suspect, they have opted not to disclose it at this time. Social media footage showed an elderly man being arrested at the scene, with FBI director Kash Patel commenting on the various questions surrounding the arrests and ongoing investigation.
