A 27-year-old newscaster's mysterious disappearance nearly 30 years ago struck the small Iowa town where she worked, and a recent tip led detectives to search her Minnesota estate for her body.
In October, detectives with the Mason City, Iowa, Police Department searched a scene in Winsted, Minnesota for Jodi Huisentrud, who disappeared on the morning of June 27, 1995.
Mason Police Chief Jeff Brinkley confirmed the purpose of the raid in a statement to FOX News Digital.
“MCPD recently worked with law enforcement agencies in Minnesota to follow up on leads in Winstead,” he said. “MCPD continues to regularly receive, evaluate, and follow up on information received in connection with the disappearance of Jody Heusentrout. Information gathered from this effort will be used in the ongoing investigation. There is no additional information available to the public at this time.'' Huisentrud, a native of Long Prairie, Minn., went missing on her way to work as a morning anchor at KIMT-TV in Mason City.
“She drove a red convertible, her hair flowed, she loved being in public. She loved going to local establishments,” said Sgt. Terrence Prochaska of the Mason City Police Department told Fox News Digital. “People knew Jody because she was just approachable.”
According to the paper, on the morning of her disappearance, Huisentrud told a co-worker that she had overslept and was going to be late for work. Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Enforcement. However, she never went to work that day.

“For the family of Jodi Huisentrud, especially her friends who were with her every day before she went missing and who continue to actively search for her, the lack of answers will leave her alone with her family at night.” It can be difficult.”
Mr. Heizentruy's disappearance was ruled a kidnapping, and his belongings, including a hair dryer, red shoes and a bottle of hairspray, were found next to his car at the apartment complex, and police found evidence of a struggle. “The biggest obstacle is that we don't have a physical body,” Prochaska admitted. “If you read about a lot of the cold cases that are being solved here these days, it's because they have bodies.”
