According to an arrest affidavit, a neighbor told police he witnessed Brad Simpson and his wife, Suzanne, get into a physical fight on the night of Oct. 6, then went to a nearby wooded area. He said he heard screams. The neighbor observed that “Ms. Simpson was trying to escape from his grasp as he attempted to pull her down,” the report continued.

“We believe she was in distress that night…but it is highly suspicious that she obviously did not go to work and did not check on her children,” Olmos Park Police Chief Sgt. Fidel Villegas said.

Police tried to question Brad, but he was “uncooperative,” Villegas said.

Suzanne's brother-in-law, Barton Simpson, said in a Facebook post: “Brad's refusal to cooperate is unacceptable.”

Brad Simpson remains in the Bexar County Jail on a combined $2 million bond on charges of assault causing bodily harm, family violence and unlawful restraint for the Oct. 6 incident, according to jail records.

He was held on $2 million bail and remains in custody as he was taken into custody by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on gun charges.
