Search underway for suspect accused of shooting at family and officer in New Hampshire

Manhunt Underway in New Hampshire After Shooting Incident

Authorities are on the hunt for an armed individual who reportedly opened fire on a family in New Hampshire on Saturday. This incident has led to injuries, including that of a police officer, and has sparked a significant search operation.

The suspect is described as a middle-aged white man. He allegedly fired shots at the family shortly after 1:30 p.m. local time, prompting police to respond swiftly.

Upon their arrival, the suspect reportedly shot at the officers, injuring one. The identity of the injured officer has not been disclosed, but it’s been confirmed that they were transported to a local hospital by ambulance.

Following the shooting, the suspect fled the area. Authorities quickly established a perimeter to contain him, according to the New Hampshire State Police.

Police say the suspect stands at 5 feet 11 inches and weighs just over 200 pounds. He has black hair and hazel eyes and is thought to be on foot.

The Raymond Police Department issued a notification through NH911 for residents to evacuate. They advised those in the vicinity of Ham Road and Nottingham Road to leave the area and be prepared for a noticeable law enforcement presence.

Several roads, including National Route 156, have been closed as part of the ongoing search. Other law enforcement agencies are assisting New Hampshire State Police in this effort.

As of now, there are no further updates from the Raymond Police Department or Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office regarding the situation.

Raymond is a small town located in southern New Hampshire, roughly 20 minutes from Manchester and about an hour north of Boston, Massachusetts.
