SEC championship game player props, picks, best bets

Tre Wisner has been a revelation for Texas.

The sophomore running back took over as the Longhorns' top ball carrier following a season-ending injury to CJ Baxter and the struggles of Jadon Blue.

And it's hard to imagine it working out any better for both him and the team.

Wisner has rushed for 344 total yards in the past two games for the Longhorns, who head into the SEC Championship Game against Georgia.

This stretch included 186 yards on the ground, or 5.6 yards per carry, against a strong Texas A&M defense that allowed just 3.9 yards per attempt.

A week earlier against Kentucky, Wisner ran for 6.1 yards per carry.

His play earned high praise from Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian ahead of Saturday's big game. Texas is the small favorite in this matchup in Atlanta.

“About a month ago, we challenged our guys on the running game,” Sarkisian said. “We knew we needed that to get where we wanted to go. And did they respond? Tre Wisner is just an absolute warrior for us.”

The oddballs aren't so sure Wisner's huge success will continue at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Wisner's over/under for rushing yards is listed at 86.5 yards per FanDuel Sportsbook, which is only half of what he has averaged over the last two games since becoming Texas' No. 1 running back.

Now, the Bulldogs' defense won't be as flexible as it was the last two times Wisner dominated.

But just reaching 100 yards with virtually no competition in the backfield and the confidence of the coaches should make this an achievable record.
