Democratic Senator Jon Tester of Montana has called on Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race.
Tester’s race is close, according to the Cook Political Report.
Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.), with the endorsement of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), on Thursday night, became the second Senate Democrat to call on President Biden to withdraw from the presidential race.
“Montana people trust me to do the right thing and I take that responsibility seriously. I have worked with President Biden when he was strong for Montana and have never been afraid to stand up to him when he’s wrong,” he said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “While I appreciate his commitment to public service and our country, I do not believe President Biden should seek reelection.”
Tester shared his plans in advance with House Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York, who then told Tester to do what he thought was best, a source familiar with the matter told Fox News Digital.

Tester’s race has been rated as “close” by the Cook Political Report, a nonpartisan political forecasting organization, a category that also includes three competitive races in Ohio, Nevada and Michigan.
