Vice President J.D. Vance and Usha Vance Expecting Fourth Child

On Tuesday, Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, announced they are expecting their fourth child, a boy, due in late July. This joyful news was shared through a statement on social media, marking an important moment for their family.

“We are so happy to share the news that Usha is pregnant with our fourth child, a boy,” the couple shared. “Usha and the baby are doing well. We are all looking forward to welcoming him in late July.”

At 40, Usha is the first spouse of a sitting vice president to be pregnant while in the role of second lady and the youngest to occupy this position since Jane Hadley Berkeley in 1949, who was 38 at the time.

This announcement coincides with the one-year anniversary of their time at the Vice President’s Office at the Naval Observatory. The Vances expressed their gratitude for the support they’ve received during this significant period in their lives.

“We are especially grateful to the military doctors who took great care of our family during this exciting and busy time and to the staff who worked tirelessly to allow us to enjoy a great life with our children while still serving our country,” they said.

The couple already has three children: Ewan (8), Vivek (5), and Mirabel (4). The children have made appearances at various public events since Vance’s campaign in 2024 and following his inauguration in 2025, showcasing their family life through participation in parades and ceremonies.

Vance often highlights fatherhood as a key part of his political persona. Recently, it was confirmed that he will speak at the 2026 March for Life on Friday, where he is expected to discuss family-oriented policies.

Additionally, Usha is slated to join the vice president at the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Italy, where Vance will lead the U.S. presidential delegation at the opening ceremony on February 6th.

As of now, there has been no comment from White House officials on whether Usha’s travel plans will be adjusted for her upcoming third trimester.
