Defense Secretary Pete Hegses is reportedly set to be the Air Force's top general known for his liberal policies, two U.S. officials told CNN on Thursday.
Air Force General Charles Q. Brown is reportedly chairman of the chairman, CNN. The move comes as Trump is about to do good with his campaign promise to root the “attractiveness” of the military.
The chairman of the Co-State Chief of Staff is the highest military officer in the entire military, serving as president, secretary of defense and senior military adviser to the National Security Council. Hegseth has long advocated for fire to the “wake” generals, specifically, including the co-director.
“First of all, you have to fire the co-headed chairman,” Hegses told the November 2024 Sean Ryan Shaw. Day has to go when he woke up. Either you're in the battle. That's all. That's the only litmus test we care about. ”
Vice-General Lisa Francetti, head of Navy Operations, could also be fired.
This list includes the current Naval Operations Director, Lisa Franchetti. Francetti was also the first woman to serve as the co-director's chief. If she is fired, it will leave the army without a female four-star general for the first time in years. In his latest book, Hegseth suggested that Franchetti was only hired to be a woman.

A spokesman for Franchetti declined to comment.
The list in circulation at Capitol Hill also points to potential promotions and possible alternatives for Brown, including the permission of Samuel Paparo, who currently leads the Indo Pacific Command in the US. General Eric Kurira, who now heads the US Central Command, is also a replacement for Brown if fired, officials said.
