Security video shows family dog chasing away alleged home intruder while 6-year-old girl sits in living room

Incredible security video has captured the moment a man who allegedly broke into a home was chased away by the family's dog.

The incident occurred at a home in Cincinnati, WXIX-TV reported.

“I think she saved us, especially my children. She saved them.”

The video shows the man entering the living room from the basement with the 6-year-old girl sitting on the couch. The family dog ​​followed him out the front door and onto the street.

Reagan Gray provided footage of the incident to WXIX. Outlet news video report.

“I saw my daughter on the couch and I said, 'Are you OK?'” Gray said.

Her daughter reportedly replied, “He didn't hurt me.”

Gray said he ran outside and saw the man leave.

Video taken earlier in the day showed a man entering the home around 9 a.m. and going straight to the basement. There he confronted his dog.

Gray said the dog is a Great Pyrenees named Pandora and is about 18 months old.

“I think she saved us,” Gray said. “Especially my children, they were protective of me.”

Court documents also say the man kicked the dog, and Gray said she heard Pandora scream loudly.

Police arrested the suspect and charged him with robbery. Ms Gray said all the camera footage helped police identify the man, who they believed broke into another home about 7 miles away later that day.

“I'm beyond grateful,” Gray said of her dog. “She received a lot of treats that day.''
