The shortest engagement in history?
“Bachelorette” Jenn Tran, 26, picked cargo company owner Devin Strader on last night's finale of the ABC reality show, before Strader, 28, showed her some stunning Neil Lane designs.
“Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?” Strader asked Tran, who wore a white Randi Rahm dress for the romantic moment.
Strader then presented her with a yellow gold engagement ring featuring a sparkling 3-carat oval diamond set in a rounded, tapered bezel.
But despite the season's winner carefully choosing sleek and stylish pieces, with details such as Tran's penchant for gold in mind, the couple's love story ultimately didn't last.
Before the proposal footage aired, Tran spoke to the audience on “After the Final Rose” and revealed that her relationship with Strader was over.
The medical assistant student said that shortly after the couple left Hawaii, Streider began to drift away and things changed.
“I felt like I was secondary to everything else in his life,” she told host Jesse Palmer, “and I didn't understand why.”
“We were a happy couple [visit] “We made plans to get engaged early last month, but the night before he called me off,” she continued, revealing that the break-up call lasted 15 minutes. “He basically said he didn't love me anymore and that he didn't feel the same way.”
Tran said Strader “regrets getting engaged.”
She even suggested they just date without the pressure of marriage, but the two broke up and didn't see each other again until Tuesday's final episode.
She also harshly criticized Strader's social media use since their split, grilling him on the “After the Final Rose” reunion show about the women he follows on Instagram, including former “Bachelor” star Maria Georgas.
Thankfully, Tran's future is already looking brighter.
On Wednesday, it was announced that she will be a contestant on season 33 of “Dancing with the Stars,” alongside Tori Spelling and con artist Anna Delvey.
