See police save an ‘impaired’ driver from a vehicle just before a train destroys it in a startling video

Two officers from the New Jersey State Police rescued a disabled driver from a car that had stopped near a train track, as shown in dramatic video footage released by authorities.

According to the Piscataway Township Police Department, officers Devin Hinchcliffe and John Ward responded to the scene just after midnight last Monday. The driver was disabled and unable to exit the vehicle. Video from a dashcam showed the officers pulling the driver from the car as the train crossing gates began to lower.

Just moments later, a high-speed train collided with the vehicle, confirming the urgency of the situation. The police department noted, “Recognizing the imminent danger posed by the approaching train, officers quickly and safely removed the driver seconds before the impact.” They praised Hinchcliffe and Ward for their swift actions that potentially prevented a tragedy.

As for the driver, it is still unclear if any charges will be brought against them, as their names have not been disclosed.
