On Thursday night, Rachel Maddow engaged in a conversation with Jimmy Kimmel, during which she repeated several inaccuracies. The organizers likely knew about these misstatements, but I suppose Kimmel didn’t feel it necessary to fact-check or challenge her.
It seems that Kimmel, ABC, and Disney are all too happy to mislead the public, and Maddow is more than willing to join in.
It’s remarkable to see Maddow rattle off multiple falsehoods in just over a minute, and we can definitely count them…
- “There has never been a president who thought he should rule without being elected.”
That’s quite misleading. What is she even referring to? This accusation has no ground; it’s as if she pulled it out of thin air, especially considering that President Trump exited office in 2020 after what many, including Trump, considered a questionable election.
- “He was going to do something about inflation, but he hasn’t actually done anything.”
Actually, recent data shows a significant drop in inflation, contrary to what the so-called experts predicted. Trump has been actively trying to address inflation, particularly by boosting the nation’s energy supply.
- “And his tariff was this. [inflation] bad. “
If his tariffs were a factor in rising inflation, then why did inflation go down last month?
- Medical insurance premiums have gone up, especially because of his actions.
She doesn’t clarify how he supposedly contributed to rising premiums. The main reason for these increases is the expiration of COVID-era Obamacare subsidies, set by the Democrats during Biden’s presidency.
- “He invaded Venezuela.”
Extraditing two fugitives is not an invasion, just to clear that up.
- “[W]What we have is a guy who says he doesn’t really believe he will be affected by the election results if he loses.”[.]
Um, are we talking about 2020 here?
- “[H]He’s going to stay long after we want him to leave.”
Again, referencing 2020?
- “And he is essentially invading American cities and using military force against American citizens.”
Enforcing laws doesn’t equal aggression. The National Guard exists to maintain order, and ICE is tasked with lawful immigration enforcement.
Now, here’s where it gets even more interesting…
- “[N]With the exception of Richard Nixon, no other president has been so unpopular at this point in his presidency, and at this point in his presidency, he was less than a year away from leaving office.”
As of now, Trump enjoys a higher approval rating than Obama did during his presidency at the same time.
Currently, Trump’s average approval stands at 44.3%. Meanwhile, Obama’s was 42.1%, a drop of 2.2 points. Interestingly, George W. Bush had a similar approval rating at this point but was still behind Trump.
Maddow consistently spreads misinformation, but it seems that neither MSNOW, ABC, nor Disney pay much attention to that.
Ultimately, they all appear focused on misleading the public, spinning tales that only serve to promote anxiety among viewers.
