Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are reportedly ramping up security for their upcoming wedding after some details were leaked earlier this month.
Since their engagement news has come out, Gomez’s top priority seems to be the safety of her high-profile guests.
“Security for Selena’s wedding is crucial, especially since she’s a public figure and many of her guests are too,” an insider shared with a media outlet.
In light of recent leaks, Gomez, who is 33, is also thinking about a no-phone policy for attendees to ensure privacy.
“She’s kind of weighing the pros and cons of letting people have their phones for security and privacy reasons,” one source mentioned.
Additional security measures are being taken as the couple faces tight schedules that prevent them from delaying any plans.
“If they weren’t just two months away from the big day, they might have considered changing everything,” the insider explained, noting that finding a new venue would be quite difficult.
“Instead, they’re doubling down on security and making the event as private as possible,” another source added.
Attempts to reach representatives for Gomez and Blanco were met with silence.
The couple’s wedding details, including guest lists, dates, and locations, emerged on July 14.
Their wedding, which is set for September in Montecito, will reportedly be a two-day event, with invitations already sent to close friends and family.
“Everyone invited has been asked to bring an overnight bag for the weekend,” said an insider.
This intimate gathering will include some big names, like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, as well as guest stars from Gomez’s Hulu show.
A second source mentioned that September is a good month for both Gomez and Blanco, given their busy schedules.
“The fall usually picks up for everyone, so it made sense,” they added.
Despite some speculation that Gomez was managing her wedding plans around Swift’s schedule, a different insider confirmed, “Selena doesn’t have to plan the wedding to accommodate Taylor; she simply wants her to be there.”
Earlier this month, before the leaks, Blanco expressed excitement about the wedding, stating they hadn’t started planning yet but were looking forward to it.
“We’ve got so much going on that it’s hard to find time, but I think we’re going to sit down soon and figure it all out,” he mentioned.
The couple became engaged in December 2024 after dating for over a year, showcasing their custom-designed rings on social media.
Despite earlier reports suggesting complications, it seems they are committed to making their celebration happen smoothly.
