It falls into the squeezed middle to bring life to the end of the 2024-25 Premier League season. The battle for Europe has been decided in some way. And thanks to their early goals and incredible defensive display, Bournemouth was able to reboot their candidacy.
Fulham, who plundered Liverpool, who was chosen as champions last week, should fear anyone other than stopping him from being a perfect top five candidate. The victory at Dorset could have put them in Justin Rose’s position of being within strike distance if the rest of the band swayed. Instead, Bournemouth jumped over the Londoners eighth. After a first league victory at 7, Andoniira Ola’s team left six games to save what seemed like a lost dream of playing continental football for the first time in club history.
Bournemouth fans sang a tour of Europe in February, but you may wonder if the hero of this season will remain with the club. Anyone who gets a kick from Transfer Tuttle will know that Dean Huysen links to almost everyone, including Real Madrid. In Morning Gossip, we saw Justin Kruibert linking with Atletico Madrid.
Meanwhile, both Silva and Iraaura are associated with Tottenham’s poison cup. And while excitable Liverpool fans have already painted Milos Kerquez in Andy Robertson’s left-back position with a pencil, while another controversial candidate for the Liverpool No. 3 shirt is Fulham’s Antony Robinson.
USA International blotted the scouting file with a mistake that set up Alex Scott’s run and Antoine Semeño’s finish just 52 seconds later. Ghanaians are on the coveted list, but Bournemouth’s early goal reminded me why Ilaola’s team watched such appointments during the winter purple patch, and why the football economy is so cruel to separate talented teammates from one another.
Two seconds should have come at the 17th minute when Kerkez burned to the left, so Scott suddenly nodded, and Evanilson broke the crossbar as an open net as a beckoning. Silva hadn’t made any changes since Liverpool’s victory, but his team took up the same energy levels for most of the first half.
Rodrigo Muniz, who broke over Bournemouth’s aggressively high press, repeatedly huijsen grabbed the loose ball as he grabbed the ball slowly, but finished his sortie as he lined up in the shot. As halftime came, Silva’s skilled salvage team was behind to make them feel their presence.
Reborn as the winger on the right, Ryan Sesegnon headed the ball to Kepa Alizabaraga, but Bournemouth was still creating a clean opportunity. Evanilson should have done better when Lewis Cook’s cross presented him with a header. Another Scott run ended with a shot past Bernd Leno.
Creating opportunities is rarely a problem for Bournemouth. This was a defensive change that Iraora made at halftime, retracting the previously booked Marcos Senesi for Ilia Zabarini, but the execution became more of a problem with the unwinning run until February 15th. Evanilson had to be patched right away, worsening amidst the fight with Calvin Bassy’s muscles.

If Fulham had control of the territory, the threat of Bournemouth remained potential, and Kerkes’ pace overlapped to the forefront. Another chance came when Tyler Adams plunged in a beautifully saved shot with his feet. Silva looked well, made three changes before time and sent Munis limping along the way from Tom Cayee, Raul Jimenez and Adamatra Ole.
For Bournemouth, Scott’s bounty was sacrificed for Marcus Tavernier’s pace. Iwobi finally made an impression when he tested Kepa by pirouetteing it from 25 yards, but Fulham fans proved that Chelsea lender, the barracks, was equal to the task.
The discarded jewel Silva is an still-unsleek Emile Smith Lowe, playing Jimenez as Fulham adopted a much more direct and rushed style. Huijsen, on his 20th birthday, led the battle against the onslaught, using all his height and sin. On the other side, during a short rest, Evanilson claimed a penalty, but Leno won the ball before making contact.
Iraola’s set piece specialist Shaun Cooper can hear Fulham call the play when he wins a series of corners, and Kepa repeatedly showed his courage in his retreat efforts that showed Bournemouth can do things the hard way.
