Embattled Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) has been accused of further charges of accepting bribes from the Qatari royal family.
“The new charges accuse Mr. Menendez, who has previously pleaded not guilty to all charges, of making positive comments about Qatar in exchange for valuable items, including luxury watches.” report ABC New York.
The new indictment says the watches allegedly provided to Menendez are worth between $10,000 and $24,000. Co-defendant Fred Dives is quoted in the indictment as saying, “How about one of these?” He sent Menendez a message with a photo of the watch. The two reportedly attended an event sponsored by the Qatari government in New York. According to ABC NY:
