Sen. Cory Booker Marries Alexis Lewis

Senator Cory Booker from New Jersey has officially tied the knot with his fiancée, Alexis Lewis. He shared this news on social media, posting a photo with his new wife. The couple held a private ceremony in Washington, D.C., just a few months after announcing their engagement on Instagram.

Booker expressed his emotions in a post, saying, “Full of gratitude. We said ‘I do’ in two places that shaped us: Newark, which I hold dear, and Alexis’ hometown of Washington, D.C. We began at the courthouse and then celebrated with our families. My heart is full and I am so grateful.” The couple’s interfaith ceremony was conducted at a private venue—Booker is Christian, while Lewis practices Judaism. They were legally married earlier at a federal courthouse in Newark, surrounded only by their parents.

According to a report, the two met in May 2024 through mutual friends who enjoyed coordinating blind dates. Their first date lasted more than five hours in Washington. Interestingly, when Booker invited Lewis for a second date the following day, she mentioned needing to catch a flight for work. However, he convinced her to postpone her trip so they could meet again in Newark, where he was headed as well.

Booker described their second outing as “even more magical.” After enjoying dinner at a tapas restaurant, he shared parts of the city that had shaped his life with Lewis. The evening concluded with their first kiss outside the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.

Lewis works as an investment director at Brasa Capital Management, a real estate firm in Los Angeles. Prior to this role, she assisted former Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from New York University and an MBA from Cornell.

Reflecting on their journey together, Lewis said, “My girlfriend and I are saying, ‘Change your flight, change your life,’ because that’s exactly what happened. I wasn’t sure I would ever get married after so many years alone. But through a significant personal journey, we found each other at this point in our lives, and I think it really is worth celebrating.”
