Congress will vote this week in an ongoing resolution to fund the government. The government will run out of money on Friday. Continuing resolutions are not the ideal way to fund governments. However, this ongoing solution will allow President Donald Trump to continue his popular agenda.
Ending wasteful Washington spending is a key part of Trump's agenda. Three in four Americans support “a serious effort to find and eliminate government fraud and waste.”
For Americans, it is common knowledge to audit federal spending and eliminate waste. For Democrats, it's a crisis. As government funding deadlines approach, Congressional Democrats are threatening to shut down the government.
Border state legislators require that Border Patrol agents be paid during pending shutdowns: “After that.”
Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey, a member of the Senate Democratic leader, vowed to “use all the tools possible” to stop President Trump.
New Jersey Sen. Andy Kim said Democrats would shut down the government “if they have to.” Democrat Sen. Jeff Merkley from Oregon said he is open to shut down the government. One House Democrat spoke about refusing to give President Trump a “blank check.”
The problem is that Democrats have been signing blank taxpayer-funded checks for years. Prices rose 20% under the previous administration. Because of the Democratic Party's reckless spending – $5 trillion in four years. Democrats want to stop a financially sanity returning.
It's clear that the federal government is wasting money. Our government is too big. I'm using it too much. President Trump's federal audit reveals billions of dollars in waste, fraud and abuse.
American taxpayers had spent $2 million developing a sustainable recycling model in the Balkans. $19 million in biodiversity conversation in Nepal. $47 million to improve learning outcomes in Asia. $1.5 million in voter confidence in Liberia in Africa. Voters turnout in India is $21 million.
Doge has significantly reduced nearly $1 million for Peru's alpaca farming, and other suspicious grants in the latest wasted spending cuts
This is a pointless spending. Democrats support that. They are willing to close the government to continue it.
Another danger of the government shutdown is to strain Border Patrol agents and our troops. If the government is shut down, Border Patrol agents and our troops must go to work without receiving their compensation.
This is a dishonorable. For years, Democrats demonized Border Patrol agents. Democrats have requested that Congress repay immigration and custom enforcement (ICE). Now they want to take these agents off their pay.
Border Patrol agents and ICE personnel are currently running the largest deportation operation in American history. They are detaining and deporting criminals, drug dealers and terrorist suspects. 81% of Americans support these necessary efforts.
Securing borders is a dangerous task.
In January, Texas Border Patrol Agent Roberto Ortiz and his partner were shot by heavily armed cartel members while patrolling the southern border. Agent Ortiz's heroic actions saved the life of his partner. President Trump praised Agent Ortiz with courage during his joint speech to Congress.

Heroes like Roberto Ortiz breathed life into life every day. They are making great sacrifices to protect our country. Democrats are angry that Donald Trump is president, so they shouldn't have to pay the price.
Republicans ensure law enforcement is receiving their pay. Democrats seem to be more interested in playing political games.
Shutting down the government is not the outcome President Trump wants. That's not the outcome Senate Republicans want. It costs money to shut down the government. And it costs more money to reopen the government.
Americans want to end the wasted Washington spending. They want to work for them in Washington, DC – not for itself.
Republicans share those views. We want the government to work efficiently and effectively. Stop waste, fraud and abuse.

The closed Democrats are acting irresponsibly. They have failed American taxpayers, service members, and border patrol agents.
If there is a shutdown, it will be promoted and directed by the Democrats.
