Sen. Rand Paul: federal air marshals monitored Tulsi Gabbard in 2024

Senator Rand Paul Raises Concerns Over Tulsi Gabbard Monitoring

Senator Rand Paul, representing Kentucky, recently claimed he received confirmation that Tulsi Gabbard, the current director of national intelligence, was under surveillance in 2024.

During a Senate meeting on Capitol Hill, Paul highlighted remarks made by President Biden regarding Air Marshal reports that included details about Gabbard’s appearances and her use of electronic devices.

Paul’s comments came as Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem discussed the budget requirements for the 2026 fiscal year.

“I want to commend you and the Trump administration for using DHS officials to curb government-sponsored censorship. Just last night, I received documentation from the department related to Tulsi Gabbard’s inclusion on the TSA’s Quiet Skies Watch List,” Paul stated.

“These documents reinforce our concerns. The Federal Airlines Source tracked national intelligence supervision during domestic flights in 2024 and provided information on her appearances and the electronics she utilized. Sadly, this isn’t just an isolated incident,” he added.

The TSA watchlist serves as a tool for federal aviation authorities to monitor U.S. citizens and gather intelligence on their activities to prevent potential threats or terrorist acts. It also oversees the Federal Air Marshal Service, which employs over 4,000 agents.

“Every time we went to the airport, we faced screening that lasted 30 to 45 minutes,” Gabbard previously mentioned in an interview with Fox’s “One Nation.” “I noticed the Air Marshals and K-9 units. It felt quite unusual.”

“The most profound impact of this experience is knowing that, moving forward, I’ll always be looking over my shoulder, questioning whether the government is monitoring me,” she expressed.

Paul also pressed Noem during the meeting about whether she had revealed any internal communications or actions taken during the previous Biden administration concerning censorship.

“We uncovered thousands of documents indicating their involvement in censorship and suppressing speech. We will present these findings to ensure that CISA is transparent about its operations,” she responded.

“Additionally, some discussions today focus on reintegrating CISA’s missions and addressing staff reductions, as many were engaged in work they shouldn’t have been doing,” Noem further explained.

In 2024, Sonya Labosco, director of the Air Marshal National Council, asserted that she was assigned to monitor individuals traveling to Washington, D.C. on January 6 during the Capitol protests in 2021.
