Fox’s first — It was another strong fundraising quarter for Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz as he looks to raise money for re-election to a third six-year term in the Senate this year.
The conservative flameout lawmaker brought in $5.5 million in fundraising in the fourth quarter of October to December 2023, according to figures first shared with Fox News Thursday morning.
Mr. Cruz's revenue from his three fundraising committees was a slight increase from the $5.4 million he raised in the past three months. He raised $4.4 million in the second quarter from April to June, and $1.8 million in the first three months of 2023.
The senator also raised $3.7 million in the fourth quarter compared to the last three months of 2017, a similar fundraising quarter during his 2018 re-election campaign.

The Cruz campaign also reported that it ended 2023 with more than $7.3 million in cash on hand.
These five seats held by Senate Democrats are most likely to flip in November
“We continue to see an increase in energy and support from patriots in the Lone Star State and across the country,” Cruz spokesman Nick Maddux told Fox News. “We are passionate about ensuring that our state remains our region.” It is a stronghold of conservatives in this country. ”
“As the radical left threatens to dismantle the Texas way of life, the stakes couldn't be higher. That's why Sen. Cruz is campaigning with Texans to ensure we keep Texas.” It will continue to open up,” he said.
Cruz has said his re-election bid “will be a shootout,” with many Democrats aiming to face him in November for the party's nomination.
Mr. Cruz narrowly defeated then-Rep. Beto O'Rourke, who won a hard-fought 2018 Senate race, trumpeted former President Trump in an interview on Fox News Digital last year: “There's no Republican in this country that Democrats hate more than me.” .

He added, “That's something I wear as a badge of honor. There's no Republican they want to defeat more than me.”
Mr. O'Rourke significantly outperformed Mr. Cruz in that 2018 showdown, and Rep. Colin Allred, the most likely Democratic candidate to take on Mr. Cruz, is expected to win the Senate by 2 million yen in the second quarter of 2023. Although it outperformed Allred by nearly $600,000 in the third quarter.

Allred has not yet announced any fourth-quarter funding. Senate candidates must submit a report to the Federal Election Commission by January 15th.
Senate Democrats hold a fragile 51-49 majority in November's election.
To regain the majority, Republicans would need a net gain of either one or two seats, depending on which party controls the White House after next year's presidential election.
The math and maps favor Republicans, with Democrats holding 23 of the 34 contested seats, including three in red states and a handful of key general election battlegrounds.
