Senator Cory Booker shared on Sunday that he has tied the knot with Alexis Lewis after a fast-paced romance.
At 56, Booker posted pictures from two wedding celebrations with 38-year-old Lewis on social media. Their first ceremony was a small courthouse event in Newark, New Jersey, attended only by their families. The second was a larger gathering in Washington, D.C.
For the courthouse wedding, Lewis wore a high-collared white dress with a cape, paired with black heels. During the second celebration, she opted for a beautiful strapless white lace gown.
The couple officially married in court on November 24, followed by their wedding party on November 29. According to a report, they held an interfaith ceremony featuring both a rabbi and a pastor, as Lewis identifies as Jewish while Booker is Christian.
“We feel immense gratitude,” the couple wrote on social media. “We said ‘I do’ in two places that are meaningful to us: Cory’s beloved Newark and Alexis’s hometown Washington, D.C., first in court and then surrounded by family.”
They emphasized their joyful feelings: “Our hearts are full and we are so grateful.” Booker proposed to Lewis, who works as an investment director at a real estate firm, less than three months ago.
The couple met in May 2024 through a mutual friend known for matchmaking. After a lengthy blind date, they arranged a second one by pushing back Lewis’s flight to Newark.
In April, they moved in together, and by August, they were engaged during a proposal in Hawaii. “Alexis is one of the greatest blessings in my life,” Booker shared on social media at the time. He noted that she helped him find a sense of balance and joy in creating a loving home.
Booker’s ex-girlfriend, actress Rosario Dawson, commented, “Love you! Congratulations to both of you!” Some fans pointed out the resemblance between Lewis and Dawson.
After the marriage announcement, one user humorously remarked about Dawson, while another referred to Lewis as a “clone” of the actress. Questions popped up online about whether Lewis was related to Dawson, who Booker dated for three years before their breakup in February 2022.
Booker has previously expressed admiration for Dawson during an interview, stating she taught him significant lessons about love and being a nurturing person.
