Senior Artist at Sucker Punch Fired for Offensive Remarks about Charlie Kirk's Assassination

Drew Harrison, a senior character artist at Sony’s Sucker Punch Productions, has been dismissed after posting on social media about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Harrison’s post referenced the popular game Super Mario Brothers, suggesting a connection to the incident by stating, “Luigi knows that his brother has got his brother, as the shooter’s name is Mario.” This comment quickly drew criticism and reports from users on X, resulting in action from her employer.

In a subsequent post, Harrison mentioned that her focus should be on addressing the reports made against her and urging representatives to advocate for gun control laws. She expressed that she felt if she had to fight against “fascism,” sacrificing her decade-long dream job would only strengthen her resolve.

Sucker Punch Productions is currently working on Ghost of Tsushima, and Harrison’s actions made her a target for conservative backlash on social media.

A report from Kotaku confirmed Harrison’s termination, citing a statement from a Sony representative stating, “Drew Harrison is no longer an employee of Sucker Punch Productions.” Her LinkedIn has also been updated to reflect her departure from the studio.

Separately, Breitbart News reported that Roblox, a gaming platform favored by kids and teenagers, has removed over 100 custom game modes related to Kirk’s assassination.

This action was prompted by a public plea from Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), who took to social media to voice her concerns regarding the Roblox game content linked to the incident. Luna, who had served as Kirk’s Director of Hispanic Engagement at Turning Point USA, urged Apple to take Roblox down from the App Store unless the content was swiftly removed. Shortly after her post, she stated there was “full cooperation” from Roblox and other platforms regarding the violent content mentioned.

Breitbart continues to cover the repercussions stemming from Kirk’s assassination in the gaming industry.
