Chief Advisor to Harris Walz Presidential Campaign admitted Vice President Kamala Harris' lead reported in the media was false.
“This is our race. It's the race we expected. I don't think it's going to be an advantage for either candidate. I think it's going to be a lot closer.”
David Plouffe made some revealing comments on his podcast, Pod Save America, over the weekend.
“So for all of us who want to see Kamala Harris win, I know you wish there was an easy path, but that path doesn't exist. This is basically “As history suggests, it will be a very close vote, if not a few thousand votes in seven states,” Plouffe said.
He also said that the lead reported in polls for Harris was never really substantial and has disappeared in recent surveys.
“I think the cause of this anomaly is that there were a number of polls that showed, I think last month, that Kamala Harris' lead was not real. That's not what we were seeing. – We've seen this basically become a draw since mid-September, for example,” Plouffe continued.
“This is our race. It's the race we expected. I don't think it's going to be an advantage for either candidate. I think it's going to be close to the end. Plouffe argued that Harris' support “has a higher ceiling,” but acknowledged that Trump is stronger now than he was in 2020, when he narrowly lost the presidential election.
